[News] SJ Siwon, Donghae, Ivy Chen are about to magnificently acsend the stage

12 Mar

Adapted from popular Japanese writer Nakamura Yoshiki’s manga “Skip Beat”, it has finally been confirmed that filming would officially start in April. “Skip Beat” drama is the first adpatation of the manga worldwide, and would be produced by Gala Television (GTV), Hakusensha* has authorized fimlimg. It is expected to cost NT 6,000,000 to build the gorgeous stage, and it is bound to create new boundaries for Taiwan idol dramas and drive the Chinese Wave.

The manga sells very well, and its anime is popular. With this adaptation, it will definitely create a trend. GTV spent many years communicating, and finally got Hakusensha and the author’s approval for its first ever adaptation. GTV has also invited Comic International Productions Co.Ltd who has much experience in Japanese manga adaptations, along with strong production power Honto Production to join in. GTV, together with the hard work of Feng Jiarui and Niucheng, will definitely create a greater idol drama reputation and trend.

Siwon plays “Ren Tsuruga”, the most popular and powerful actor in the acting circle, but has almost zero experience when it comes to love. Choi Siwon has experience from acting in numerous dramas in Korea, such as the Korean drama “Athena”, the current champion in viewership ratings. He carries an extravagant and friendly air, which fits with the role, and hence had a unanimous recommendation. Also, the birthday of Ren Tsuruga in the manga suprisingly falls on the same day as Siwon’s (10 February). It is as if he was born to play this role.

Donghae, who would be playing “Shō Fuwa”, hopes to challenge a role of a bad man who is popular with the ladies. He can finally fufill his dream by playing Shō Fuwa. In the drama, the super popular singer is a bad man that many hate to love. The playful and caring Donghae in Super Junior, happens to be the same as the drama character, who loves to dance and sing.

“Skip Beat” would soon start filming, and the female lead is not the only ready one. After Siwon and Donghae, who have packed schedules, found out about their confirmed roles, they displayed tremendous commitment and are focused and ready to play the roles in their first overseas drama. It is hoped that through GTV’s long-term promotion for the drama, it would bring the Chinese worldwide even closer. The most suitable actors, the closest adaptation from the original, the finest production team, the strongest marketing package. We believe that it would definitely bring a refreshing change to the whole of Asia and mark a new milestone for roles in dramas.

The most magnificent challenge for dramas in this century, the most world-class star performance, SKIP BEAT~ Coming soon!

[News] Interview with SJ-M: New members making the group more perfect, Jay Chou’s song is hard to sing

5 Mar

On the 3rd of March, idol group Super Junior-M (SJM) went to Shanghai with a new concept, to kick start promotional activities for their new 2nd mini album, Too Perfect. During this special interview, member Kyuhyun introduced the two new members, Eunhyuk and Sungmin, “They joining our group have made this sub-group more perfect, just like our new album title, Too Perfect.” The album also include a song produced by Jay Chou and Fang Wen Shan, which SJM members added that it was an exceptionally difficult song to sing.

Avoid talking about Hangeng, additional members makes SJ-M more perfect

After undergoing changes, SJ-M is back in the Chinese music industry, with new members like Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Sungmin. Kyuhyun expressed his thoughts about the additional 2 members, “They joining the group have made this sub-unit more perfect, just like out new album name, Too Perfect. Eunhyuk, who is part of the dance and Sungmin, who is part of the singing, have helped us a lot. Member Zhou Mi also added, “I hope is a new start for Super Junior-M.” indicating that the members are going to move on, and questions regarding Hangeng were already filtered through by staff members before the conference.

The album also includes works from Henry and Zhou Mi. According to Henry, the song was done together with his friend at his university in America, and not only did he composed the song, but wrote the lyrics as well. “Even though my standard of mandarin isn’t very good, but I tried my best to write this song.” Since the debut of SJ-M, Zhou Mi has participated in writing lyrics for every song in all their albums. He said, “I always had a dream, that for every Super Junior-M album, I would have a chance to participate in the producing stage. But now, not only do I write the lyrics, I have also tried composing. I hope I can make better music for everyone to listen.”

Mad practice of mandarin, confesses that Jay Chou’s song is really hard to sing

The album does not only consist of songs written by the members of SJ-M, but also Jay Chou – Fang Wen Shan produced. Zhou Mi confessed, “Jay Chou is Henry’s favourite singer, and not only is Henry exceptionally happy, but all 8 of us are honoured. The song is really nice to listen, but the pronunciations are really difficult. The members all tried their best during practice to make sure that our pronunciations are accurate.” Eunhyuk also confessed that the rap in “was a really difficult part” SJ-M also express that they wish to have more opportunities to work with other artists from the industry. Kyuhyun added, “I wish to work with Zhang Hui Mei (A-Mei), and only me and Zhang Hui Mei.”

During the course of recording, Chinese member Zhou Mi was a mandarin teacher to all of the members. Sungmin said, “This is my first time recording a Chinese song. To get the perfect pronunciations were really difficult, so I learnt from Zhou Mi. For every recording, Zhou Mi will help me. Although it is really difficult, we still managed to finish it in the end.” According to Zhou Mi, who are the most obedient student, and the most playful? “Everyone is really serious, and when you tell them that their pronunciation is wrong, they will change. As for who is most playful, it will be Kyuhyun. Because his pronunciations are really good, there wasn’t a need for me to worry. But on times when I tell him that he is wrong, he will laugh at him and say, ‘could it be that your pronunciation is wrong?’ In this album, everyone really did well and it was an improvement.”

Siwon’s “disappearance” makes him the ‘prefect boyfriend’ to the members

8 members group SJ-M arrived at the press conference, missing Choi Siwon. Regarding his ‘absence’, the company did not give any reasons, but stated that he will be present on 5th March Super Junior’s concert in Shanghai. The new album name is Too Perfect and when the members were asked about who is the most perfect boyfriend among the SJ-M members, Henry pointed at himself, while Sungmin stood up from his chair, eliciting laughs from everyone. In the end, Kyuhyun decides that, “since this time, there are only 7 of us here, and Super Junior-M has 8 people, but we are without Siwon, so we will make him the most perfect boyfriend.”

Kyuhyun, who had arrived in Beijing earlier to do a recording for a show, stated that he sang , Tan Te and is very up to date about the songs in Mainland. When one of the reporter requested that Kyuhyun to sing a few lines, he flushed and said, “During the show, there were a lot of fans and the hosts were asking me to sing, so I have no choice. A lot of people are also looking forward to this performance. That time, I “wasn’t feeling good”* so I performed. But now, I feel good*, so I don’t think I want to perform. Perhaps next time, when there is a chance, I will perform for everyone to see.”

*: I think he meant the feel of the song.

[News] Super Junior-M in Taiwan To Promote New Album, Eight Missing One, SM Entertainment stresses there was no breach in contract

5 Mar

Super Junior sub-group Super Junior-M (SJ-M) who came to promote their new Manadrin mini album, held a press conference after reaching Taipei on the 24th. However, it was eight* missing one, as Chinese member Zhoumi had problems with his visa. SJ-M’s Taiwanese agency, Fulong Agency, also issued a statement in regards to the previous day’s incident where Taiwan concert organizers wanted to file a lawsuit. They expressed that initially, the Korean agency did not directly sign the contract and at that time, the activities in Taiwan were done according to the terms in the contract.

You could say that SJ-M’s schedule is filled, although there is one less person. However, when they arrived at the press conference, they were still teasing and singing. Moreover, their record company arranged to have the Japanese LOVE bunny on stage, in lieu of the Year of the Rabbit. But the LOVE bunny could have been too nervous and accidentally fell down. SJ-M members hurriedly rushed to help it up, and became the lucky “Rabbit fans”. Siwon, who was a Rabbit**, looked especially happy and revealed that Sungmin’s nickname was “Bunny”. The group of men held the auspicious couplets and took a photo with the LOVE bunny. As usual, they used Mandarin and said that they would work hard.

In addition, with regards to the incident on the 23rd where the concert organizers wanted to sue SJ, their agency SM Entertainment made a statement through the Taiwanese agency, Fulong. They emphasised that SM Entertainment initally gave authority “KO Entertainment”, a Korean company. They also mentioned about the contract with HS Media, with regards to yesterday’s incident. At that time, it was already stated that one member may be unable to participate and perform. Moreover, last month’s contract between the Korean parties and the organizers did not have a clause that said “No performance in Taiwan for six months”. Also, the contract for SJ’s third concert tour was already signed with Taiwan organizer, Super Dome, in mid last year. SM Entertainment once again emphasised that there was no breach of contract, and other related violations.

*- There are eight members in SJM. This was a reference to the number of members.
**- It means that he was born in the lunar Year of the Rabbit.

[News] Super Junior enchants Filipino fans anew with Super Show 3

5 Mar

MANILA, Philippines – Korean boy band Super Junior lived up to its promise and hype as its members delivered another successful concert for Filipino fans last Feb. 26 at the jampacked Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Super Junior’s “Super Show 3: The 3rd Asia Tour” Manila leg was nothing short of spectacular, from the massive stage and giant screens to the wonderful numbers performed by the boy band fangirls and fanboys screamed and cheered, waved their banners, and sang with Super Junior, holding aloft their light sticks that turned the coliseum into a sea of sapphire blue.

The Super Junior members who performed at the Araneta Coliseum were Leeteuk, Heechul, Sungmin, Siwon, Donghae, Yesung, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, Shindong, Ryeowook, and Henry Lau (member of sub-unit Super Junior-M). Special guest was SM Entertainment’s artist, TRAX. The concert opened with Donghae being lifted up from the stage by cables.

The boy band sang their hits including “Sorry Sorry,” “Bonamana,” “Twins,” “U,” “A Man in Love,” “No Other,” “Hate You Love You” and “In My Dream.”

As both the band and the fans reeled happily from the concert, Super Junior-M member Henry Lau gave a shout-out to the Filipino fans who watched the show.

“Had a blast in the Philippines! You were all AWESOME! Thank you so much! Hope to be back soon!” he tweeted after the concert.

Heechul also tweeted to thank the Philippines.

“Manila! Feel so good! I really love u! My body didn’t feel good but Philippines’ cheers made me feel better,” he posted on Twitter.

Bulletin Entertainment asked Filipino fans to share their Super Show 3 experience and they were one in saying that the concert was awesome, unforgettable and exciting.

Edna Marie Vilchez and 10 of her friends flew all the way from Bacolod just to watch the Super Junior concert. She said she was lucky that she saw Super Junior in person.

“It was totally indescribable for me. I was shouting most of the time at the concert, as in, from start to end. They were so perfect! We waited for almost 10 hours outside Araneta but it was so worth it!” she said.

Narl Marquez of Super Junior United Philippines said, “It was kind of exciting. We watched the Bangkok SS3 Leg, and we wanted more. It was also stressful since there were a lot of things needed to be prepared but it’s all worth it. Actually, nakakabitin pa rin hanggang ngayon.”

Super Junior made sure that fans were not only able to watch them sing but get up close and personal as well. Members interacted with fans, and leader Leeteuk gave a shirt to a lucky female fan.

Fanboy Angelo de Villa, 22, from Taguig said seeing Super Junior for the first time was awesome. “It was a memorable experience to see them enjoy performing onstage while we also enjoyed their performance.”

For Dannca Francisco, 13, from San Pedro, Laguna, it was her first time to watch a Super Junior concert. “I felt very excited and nervous at the same time before the concert. But in the end I felt very happy,” she said, adding that it felt great seeing Super Junior in person.

Another fan, 18-year-old Judith Sabojocan of Muntinlupa City, said she loved every minute of the concert.

“Seeing Super Junior again, especially more closer now, was like what Sungmin and Leeteuk did! I felt like I was the one flying on air! I loved every minute of the show but the tribute for Kangin was amazing! Yesung and Ryeowook made my Saturday night like Valentine’s Day! I love ’em all!” she told Bulletin Entertainment.

There were funny moments, too, notably Heechul impersonating Lady Gaga together with Donghae, Eunhyuk and Shindong, who all came out dressed as ladies. Siwon also did fans a service by performing a number shirtless, showing his well-sculpted body to the delight of the audience.

Fans also noted the highlights and memorable scenes at the concert.

For Marquez, whose favorites are Kangin and Kyuhyun, “My favorite would be the part where Heechul went to our side and got the Kangin mask from me. He used it during his solo and gave it back to me. I was really touched. I actually cried,” she said. Super Junior member Kangin is currently serving in the military and was unable to join the Manila concert.

For De Villa, who is a fan of Siwon and Donghae, said, “I love how they seem to play onstage on certain songs. Siwon, Donghae and the others are like playful children goofing around while performing and it was a fun thing to watch because they are what they are, on and off stage.”

Eunhyuk fan Vilchez said that for her, the memorable concert moments were when Eunhyuk performed “Down” and when Henry Lau sang “Baby.”

“It was so great hearing all the fans sing with them, especially since the song was in English. The Lady Gaga and Beyonce numbers by Heechul (as Lady Hee Hee) and Donghae, Eunhyuk and Shindong were fabulous,” she said.

Francisco, who is a huge fan of Donghae, said her favorite moment was the “Rinaldo” song. “It was when all ELFs cried because we miss Kangin and also when Henry said Philippines is the loudest [crowd],” she said.

The Super Show 3 is already over but fans are still talking about the great concert experience. A day after the concert, Super Show 3 in Manila was still a trending topic on Twitter. In fact, fans are already talking about Super Junior’s Super Show 4 next year.

Super Junior had a great impression of the Philippines based on the cheers and support of the thousands of fans who filled Araneta Coliseum.

For the fans, Super Junior will always be No. 1 in their hearts.
